The Perfect Pear-ing at Druids Glen11 February 2019
The five-star Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort has teamed up with their well-known neighbours, The Happy Pear, to add a number of vegan dishes to their menus in the Garden Rooms and Bar. The team at Druids Glen, led by Executive Chef Anthony Duggan, have been working with Stephen and David Flynn for the past few months to develop the dishes, which are now available daily from 10am to 10pm.
There are five new vegan dishes added to the main menu and are spread across starters, main courses and desserts. The dishes include Cauliflower Wings, the renowned Buddha Bowl, Grilled Jackfruit Vegan “Pulled Pork” Sandwich, Vegan Pizza and Vegan Black Forest Cheesecake.
Druids Glen, located in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow and just 35 minutes from Dublin, completed a refurbishment to reveal the new Garden Rooms and Bar last summer. The resort has optimised the magnificent view onto the gardens and woodlands that is the 12th and 13th holes of the championship Druids Glen golf course, which can also be viewed from the beautiful outdoor terrace. The Garden Rooms and Bar has ample space for guests to unwind and relax, with the room more than doubling in size with the recent extension. In addition, it is the perfect destination for local South Dublin and Wicklow residents to enjoy their day or evening.
Speaking about the new vegan additions to the menu, Executive Chef Anthony Duggan, commented; “We are absolutely delighted to have worked with Stephen and David to add these new vegan dishes to our Garden Rooms and Bar menu. We know more and more of our guests and customers are interested in trying vegan dishes, so it is fantastic that we have these on offer along with the excellent quality of The Happy Pear. It is even better to be able to work with a fellow Wicklow business which the Irish public have come to know and love.”
