Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort Unveils Newly 'Reimagined' Golf Course after Multi-Million Investment

Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort is pleased to announce the re-opening of their restored and enhanced Druids Glen course and new clubhouse on June 1, following a multi million euro investment.

The famed County Wicklow golf course, named European Golf Resort of the Year in 2005, was designed by Pat Ruddy & Tom Craddock and has undergone extensive upgrades over the past 16 months to cement its nickname the ‘Augusta of Europe’.

Whether you are staying at our luxury Wicklow hotel or visiting for the day, our two championship golf courses allow our golfing guests to enjoy varied play over equally exhilarating landscapes – both of which are renowned as being amongst the finest, most challenging and most enjoyable in Europe.

Marcus Doyle, Golf Director, Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort, commented on the investment: "We wanted to take advantage of the technological advances that have emerged in the agronomical world in the past few decades. Our approach was really led by studying the impacts that nature has had, which has helped us to develop effective strategies for positively shaping the new course.”

Aidan Ryan, General Manager of Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort commented: ‘We knew that this was going to be something special from the outset, with the aims of protecting the history and original magic of the golf course alongside upgrading the course and facilities to modern standards. The entire team have worked tirelessly over the past three years on this unique project and we are proud to bring the restored Druids Glen Golf course back to our members, resort guests and visitors.

Druids Glen Golf Course and ClubHouse will be officially reopening on June 1st, 2023 to visitors.

The Druids Glen Course, is famous for hosting the Irish Open on four occasions – along with the prestigious Seve Trophy.

Druids Heath once host to the Irish PGA Championship, is known as “nature’s gift to golf” weaving its way around quarries, trees, lakes and pot bunkers. Golfers can absorb the rare heathland course, the breath-taking setting, with views over the Irish Sea, on what was once the doorstep of the ancient Druids of Ireland.
