The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation is an Irish charity, founded in 1997 by Jonathan Irwin and his wife Mary Ann O’Brien, following their experience caring for their son Jack at home after he suffered severe brain trauma. The foundation provides in-home nursing care, respite support, and end-of-life assistance to children under the age of six who suffer from severe neurodevelopmental delays. These conditions can include being tube-fed, oxygen-dependent, prone to seizures, or living with cerebral palsy.
The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation fills a critical gap in Ireland’s healthcare system by providing high-quality, home-based support for families with medically fragile children. Its combination of direct impact, ethical management, and strong community engagement makes it a vital lifeline for many across the country.
